Introduction to Tactical Formation--Section Turns
T-45C TS, ADV & IUT TFFP-02
MOTIVATION
Success in the air combat arena is directly dependent on the
Sg 0, fr 5
mutual support provided by an effective tactical doctrine. By
Motivation (Video)
implementing the maneuvers presented today, you can increase
your survivability and offensive capability in a threat environment.
OVERVIEW
This lesson will give you the information to maneuver as a section
in combat spread.
During this lesson you will cover:
*
Position and purpose of combat spread
*
Lead and wingman responsibilities while flying tactical
formation
*
Mutual support as it applies to tactical formation flying
*
Types, purposes and procedures of combat spread turns
REFRESHER
Recall that:
*
During Form and NForm flights you had to fly a tight struc-
tured formation position required by the mission. During
TacForm flights you will have more flexibility as you fly in
combat spread. Although you will fly two canned exercises
during TacForm, you may employ a much wider range of
maneuverability than in formation flight.
