Reversal with free fighter in low cover
INSTRUCTOR NOTES
This following animated sequence starts with the free fighter in
low cover reversing with the bogey. Initially however, the free
fighter had too much closure which required him to reverse from
low to high cover instead of low to low.
(1) Voice comm is same as reversing from high

(2) Free fighter reverses and either:
(a) Pulls inside engaged fighter's turn and
slides into low cover
(b) Moves to high cover
(3) Keep track of engaged fighter at all times
(4) State position in relation to engaged fighter
and confirm engagement opportunity

Common errors for loose deuce exercise
a.
Problem: wingman fails to react to lead's "Hard
right/left turn" call
Correction: turn aircraft upon lead's order
b.
Problem: free fighter fails to acquire visual on
engaged fighter after reversal (usually in high
cover)
Corrective action: respond to lead's instructions
of where to look and, if necessary, how to fly
the aircraft in order to reacquire visual
expeditiously
