Upon completion of this unit of instruction, the student
will demonstrate knowledge required to be familiar
enough with the Department of Defense Planning,
Programming, and Budgeting System, the Program Objective
Memorandum process, and the various funding sources to
work in the area of weapons and weapons systems
Completely supported by this lesson topic:
State the office that provides funds to the systems
acquisition programs and operating forces for given
programs and functions.
Identify the term that describes the funds required to
pay for the daily operation, maintenance, and support of
the Navy's ships, aircraft, and equipment.
Identify the commands that receive funds in the form of
major claimants operating budgets from the CNO, and
issues funds to themselves and to their respective
TYCOMS in the form of expense limitations.
Identify the NAVCOMPT form normally used to advise
operating budget holders of operating budget amounts
granted, and amendments thereto.
Describe the various OPTAR Functional Categories for
which funds may be granted to Aviation Operating Forces.
