FORMATION, INSTRUMENTS, AND FCLP PHASE I
1. Formation Stage. Develop basic section and division
formation flying skills and provide additional landing practice.
Includes: Formation Flight Procedures (FFP-01 through FFP-08X),
Emergency Procedures simulator (EP-08S), and Formation simulators
and flights (FORM-01S through FORM-25).
EP-08S shall be flown after FORM-01S and prior to
Student must complete two takeoff running rendezvous
and two section breaks prior to FORM-08X.
Student formation lead events (FORM-10 through FORM-13
shall be flown anytime after FORM-09 and prior to the
end of the stage.
Student must have one division takeoff running/CV
rendezvous and one division break at the field prior to
Division FORM may be completed as three-plane flights.
However, either FORM-22 or FORM-23 must be flown as a

2. Field Carrier Landing Practice. Introduce the student to
FCLP requirements with emphasis on day and night FCLPs.
Includes: Carrier Qualification Flight Procedures (CQFP-01
through CQFP-03X) and Field Carrier Landing Practice simulators
and flights (FCLP-01s through FCLP-13X).
Two night FCLP flights are required; Night FCLPs shall
not be scheduled before FCLP-08.
Jacket review required prior to check flight.
